We all know that Finland is full of rich history and great cities. You probably will find yourself thinking that you aren't sure how to see all of Finland in one vacation. It is very hard to do, for sure. But a great way to solve your problem is day trips. These allow you to experience the city without the pain of missing out on others. About an hour trip by train from Helsinki is the beautiful city of Lahti, and here is how to experience it in one summer day.

1. Sky Jumps and Ski Museum
The Ski Jumps and Museum are a great way to start out the day. You can pay to ride the Ski Lift up to the top of the jumps for a stunning view! After coming down, you are then able to go to the museum featured with fun facts, simulations, and history.

2. Vesijӓrvi, Pӓijӓnne National Park, or Laune Family Park
In the heat of a summer day, you will want to spend some time outside after all of that ski talk! In the afternoon, you should try to get out! The Vesijӓrvi is a lake with shops and restruants on the boardwalk for great views and shopping. Pӓijӓnne is a national park with great beaches and fun water to swim in. The Laune Family Park offers disk golf, many playgrounds, and fun for the whole family!

After all of the play in the morning, you will follow with an evening you won’t forget. The famous Sibelius Hall in Lahti, named after famous composer, John Sibelius, has wonder symphonies and shows to watch! The old building is renovated from an old shipping and logging factory, and now sits on the shore of the Vesijӓrvi, for outstanding sights and sounds!
After all that fun, you can catch a train back to Helsinki for another fun trip the next day!
